IBM recently announced the IBM Small and Medium Business (SMB) Advantage
Program - a wide initiative designed to help the 90,000 business partners
of the company increase their profit potential and to serve the 300 billion-worth
market of the small and medium businesses (SMBs).
This initiative, about to be officially launched in March, during the
PartnerWorld event in New Orleans, consists in launching new channels,
incentives, demand generating utilities and team-up opportunities, all
these being provided through the IBM PartnerWorld program.
IBM will support its position in promoting 'e-business - on - demand'
solutions and services with an investment reaching some 500 million dollars,
amount designed to be spent for demand generating programs and sales bonuses.
For example, one of the recently launched offerings, designed especially
for SMBs include: WebSphere Application Server Express, WebSphere Portal
Express, a complete line of eServer systems for SMBs, including the new
and integrated servers eServer iSeries, that incorporate ''on demand''
capabilities and ''on demand'' hosting services from IBM Global Services,
as offerings with special prices, building a series of packages that business
partners can distribute and customize.
