SGI recently showcased advances in collaborative visualization technology
and high-performance computing (HPC) within the sciences and media industries
at the exclusive SGI VizSummit at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie,
Paris, France, (3 to 5 February, 2003).
The event enjoyed the presence of representatives from Janssen Pharmaceutica,
Johnson & Johnson and the University of Manchester. Leaders in the
chemical and pharmaceutical fields will also discussed 3D visualization
in molecular modeling and the use of collaborative visualization in drug
discovery and development.
France Télévisions Publicité, Danish Broadcasting,
Sveriges Television of Sweden and Alcatel are among those who spoke during
the summit, discussing broadcast and broadband technology, digital TV
production, broadcast automation, and the current technological challenges
the media industry faces.
SGI solutions enable companies to shorten their time to insight and improve
their ability to make decisions. Combining HPC and data management technologies
with advanced visualization capabilities allows the analysis of data in
innovative and collaborative ways.
The summit demonstrates how SGI can offer a complete set of tools and
professional services to help businesses overcome core technological challenges
from assessing medical images and discovering new drugs to digitizing
TV content and converting video networks into data networks.
