Siemens selects 4thpass technology to power Mobile Java services

Siemens has selected 4thpass Inc. and its mobile Java technology as a best in class software for carriers to deliver Java services to mobile subscribers. This gives mobile operators an attractive end-to-end solution including the newly launched terminals, the SL45i and the M50, download service and applications as well as diverse content from partners of Siemens' Mobile Solutions Partners Network.

Germany-based Siemens will directly sell the 4thpass Mobile Application System (MAS) to selected carrier customers in Europe and Asia. Siemens will also become a certified integrator of MAS, provide technical support and help integrate the 4thpass MAS technology into carrier networks.

MAS is server side software that lets carriers manage, filter, and deliver Java applications over the air to mobile devices. 4thpass is a pioneer in creating advanced mobile Java, or J2ME, technology.

4thpass MAS technology is the preferred choice of carriers and is currently licensed by LG TeleCom (Korea); Telefonica Moviles (Spain); and Nextel in the United States. MAS is also undergoing trials with mobile operators in Asia, Europe and the United States.
