The global demand for semiconductors has an estimated growth of 2.3% in
2002, slightly recovering from last year's decrease - the largest so far:
32.0%, World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Inc. experts said.
The organization also predicts that the DRAM market will grow 44.3% this
year, as a result of the incredible fall last year - 61.3%. For the chip
market as a whole, WSTS estimates a 21.7% growth in 2003 and 14,5% in
2004. In 2005, the growth is expected to fall back to 3.2%, but, at the
moment, it will represent more than the 2000 record of 204.4 billion dollars.
